I'm going to Belize for three weeks, and I wanted to do a little research on what types of corals i will be seeing, hince I'm searching for data bases that will have pics. If I can get some web sites, or even personnal pictures with identification, it would be a great help.
Thanks
drew;)

Hi Drew,

Belize reportedly has some very nice unspoiled reefs. The closest I've been is Roatan which is close enough to see the mountains of Belize on the horizon ;) Basically look up any info you can find on Caribean reefs. The best books I've seen for id'ing Caribean critters and corals is Paul Hunan's series of books.

I'll attach a couple of my Roatan pics for you :)

On the Scleractinian side, Belize is lacking. There are tons of gorgonians and barrel sponges and the like.
where are you headed?

Bob....go to my site and you'll find some underwater pics of Belize. I have visited twice now and spent two weeks on the Aggressor Live Aboard. Nice diving if you can get offshore
