I been wondering how everyone's anemones is doing, and if anymore splitting has been happening?

I have noticed mine has grew substaintialy since i got him, but i do not know signs of splitting, other then maybe it begins to look rectanglur or something...

Anyway, mine is good and hasn't moved too much, just few spots here and there, but has found a spot i believe to settle, i just re-arranged the tank, so maybe he'll prolly move again.

I got two, a nd both are doing well. They also moved a little from where I first placed them, seem to want less direct light. One of them either wants to split or just likes to hang out in a funny shape.....

Meisen, how many did you end up with

I noticed that too right away, he moved to a not so directly under light position of the LR. i like him, especially when he eats :)

Mine disappeared in the sandstorm caused by the engineer fish- I have no idea if they are alive at all. Oh well.

I never see mine eat - do you target feed it?

yea, he is too far on side of rock and misses it all so end up using the turkey baster., i re-arranged tank so i didnt have to keep messin with the top so i can get to his spot, now i can easily just insert the baster through hole in top :)

Sorry to hear that, sounds like you like them engineers though.

Sort of- interesting to watch, but things just keep moving...

But my sand is getting much cleaner! :D

Cool - I just "turkey basted" them both with some mysis - who would've thought such a liitle creature could take such a big gulp?

Moujon, I know what you mean about the sand getting re-arranged. I got a pistol shrimp to pair with a watchman goby. He is about the busiest little scooper you've ever seen - only caused one minor rock avalanche though. I can't even imagine how much stuff your two engineers are moving around.....

This is how much sand they can move...

It was all a nice, smooth ocean floor at one point... Now it's more like a drop-off!

But they are so interesting to watch-

But that's a whole 'nother thread!

My Anemone is doing awesome! Put him on top at first and he just moved right over the edge of the rock, in the shade, and has been there ever since. Beautiful colors and I love feeding that little guy.

Mark,

I have one extra left....wound up with 6 extras in total from the deal between freebees and splits. I think they may be like rose anemones, they split when stressed. Seeing as the shipping box came in at around 48 degrees, I guess they were pretty stressed. Might try to chill one and see if that does it. Anyway, I would be happy to give you one seeing as you hooked me up with stuff when I came out last December.

Mine are doing well, colored up quite a bit from when they first came in though I still have them in my fuge (lazy, I know). I give them mysid shrimp or pieces of cocktail shrimp once a week though since the initial splits, no signs of fission.

Anyone else have any splits? I feed mine silversides and shrimp and he has colored up nicely (green and pink) but no signs of splitting.

Where would i get silversides?

Sula

Funny, I was wondering the same thing. I have seen silversides at Preferred Pets in Janesville, been kicking myself for a month for not buying while I was there - don't get down that way too often. I've "looked" at PetWorld and Aquatic Specialties but not found, I'll be trying Aq Superstore next.

They might-they do carry it but don't keep a lot of packages on hand.
