Hi i have been doing reef for some time (around 2 years) now and i like to setup 29G tank (not sure if it feets as nano). Right now i have 115G tank with all gadgets but not sure what i need for 29G setup.

Here is what i want to keep.
Pair of Oscellaris clowns and Rose anemone from my tank.
Three Chromis
Royal Gramma
For corals, mostly LPS and softies.

Questons:
-> Do i need sump and refugium?
-> DO i need protein skimmer? (I can do weekly water changes)
-> What type of lights i need? I am leaning towards PC lights.
-> Can i use any home depot lights?
-> Any suggetions on lights?
-> WIll two maxi jet 1200 power heads be ok for circulation?
I am thinking about doing 1 -2" sand bed.
Thanks

No you don't need a sump or refugium, a sump will add more water for tank stability and a refugium can increase your filtering capacity by nutrient removal but you don't have to have them.
You can also get by without a skimmer as long as you do frequent water changes and monitor your tanks water parmaeters.
For lighting you will need enough lighting to support the anenome, if you go with PCs don't skimp, get as high a wattage as you can fit on the tank. Another option woould be the Sunlight Supply T5s, with these you can even keep clams and SPS corals.
Unless you decide to add a refugium I don't think HD lights would be appropriate.
A pair of properly placed MJs should be fine for circulation. You will have to play around a little to make sure you don't have any dead spots though.
A shallow sandbed is okay too.
Good luck, Skip

Thanks Skip for reply. I don't want to do SPS and Clams. I had them both in my tank and for now i want to stick with low maninatnce tank mostly with softies and few LPS.

For rose i know with PC i might need to feed him more to keep him happy but will this light work for softies and LPS that i wanted to keep?

What do you think?

That light should be fine, I was actually referring to not buying one with a single bulb or a pair of low wattage bulbs (like 2x 28 watt). I didn't think you were going to keep anything that needed more light than the RBT but I usually elaborate a little for those just lurking that don't know better. Good luck, Skip

The bulbs I have now are 6500k 50/50. I like them but have nothing to compair them to as this is one of my first tanks? Anyone got pics of the 10K bulbs at work?

For MH 10K are crisp white and 65K are yellowish. Not sure it is exactly same for PC or not

Will one 10K and one Actinic work? Will it too blue?

Well I have that exact light fixture. So we're after the same info.
I don't run a skimmer yet, but from what I read the aqua c is better.

i ran that same fixture for awhile and i think 1 actinic and 1 10k look best but if you like the blue look go with 1 actinic and 1 50/50 bulb but that combo was a bit to blue for me
