As it says i need to create a 12 gallon or so Nano tank. It has to be able to keep polyps and shrooms. I need one of the cheapest ways to do this. Would the 12 gallon nano work?

The cheapest way would either be to find used equipment or start out with a standard 10 gallon aquarium. You can find some decent lights from an online vendor for under $100, then add a hang on powerfilter and heater, that should be enough to get by as long as you have saltmix, hydrometer/refracometer, buckets, etc. Of course live rock is the next big expense but you may be able to find a deal on some or find someone breaking a tank down. If you look in the selling forum here on ReefCentral you may be able to cut some corners by buying used, that should save some money. Compare online prices including shipping to the used prices including shipping and go from there.

I got to appeal to all the girls in my school soo im going to put a small species of clown in there, juevinelle and will be moved into my 55 as soon as the project is done. But i will be putting a goby of some sort in it and thats it.

the fastest way to cycle is to use your tank as a source. LR, LS, critters, livestock, etc. keep it(LR/LS) submerge in water and keep it as minimum as possible expose to air when tranfering it from your tank to the 10gal. when its done you can just transfer everything back to your main tank.

by taking things from your tank you'll save money and have little die off.

You could try bio-spira marine, but there are mixed reviews as to whether it actually works or not...

Well i heard the cycling is when the die off is done on the live rock. Soo if i use alredy cured rock it should be fine. But ill let it run for 11 days.

for super cheap lights to support polys and shrooms check out Coralife's Mini PC's at 20w each. I have two of those lighting my 10 gallon and its just enough for the polys and shrooms in my tank.

They cost about $25 each (Canadian funds).

good luck.

no keep the nano cube's lights i have shrooms xenia ricordea and all sorts of of zoos and othe softies. try a pair of tru perculas and a yellow clown gobie in the tank. and if you really want to impress the ladies name one of the clowns after the girls you like the most. what grade are you in? the 30 credits sounds good. i could use them myself seeing as i am in 11th grade and trying to get 50 extra to stay on the basket ball team next year. hth do you have a picture of the tank you keep at home?
