Ok, here's the Nano, just taken 5 min. ago setup on Feb. 11, still very new and green

http://www.modesinc.com/reef/dscf1332.jpg

This is a shot of the 120 from Jan. or early Feb. after the last 50 lb. of LR was added. I'll take a new one tonite to show how many frags I need :)

http://www.modesinc.com/reef/dscf528a.jpg

I have tons of macro and super macro pics of fish, pods, worms, crabs, snails, macro-algae, coraline, tunicates, etc. etc. i suppose I'll post a few of the really good ones. BTW, I have a new Fuji S7000 that has taken most if the better shots I'll bring it along on "field trips" if anyone wants some reallty hires pics taken of their tanks. Make sure you have a cold beer for me tho, photography makes a man thirsty! :)

Shroom I picked up Sunday for $20 taken lastnight with the s7000. It's much more impressive at 2400 DPI but... Cool toys!!!! :)

tidal
03/08/2005, 07:48 AM
nice mushrooms stacker.. i had my eye on those type of shrooms. i had to make a choise between them and bright green blastos. i chose the blastos.. maybe we could trade a polyp for a polyp

Ok, you have to find a place to host the pics (I FTP mine up to my own Website space) and link to them using the IMG toggle in the reply menu. I'm pretty sure you can post several pics to the photo gallery herer in RC then link to them too but they limit your file size to like 325K I think. That's why I blew that off and just used my own space. I suppose I'll have to free up a few megs so I can upload a few more pics top post.

I picked up a red Blasto myself but there's only 2 adult and one juvi on the frag now. I'm hoping the greenies will take off and cover the big piece of LR I placed the big frag on so I can hammer it into 2-3 pieces to trade. Very beautiful under actinic/12K combo.

It's all the camera, I have little photographic talent or patience. I thought digital cameras were cool but this one is sub zero. I can't imagine the quality of the SLR digitals in the $2+ grand ranges. At the highest resolution setting, super macro mode, and a few button pushes for exposure a monkey could take killer pics. I'm living proof! :)

stacker, i always got beer in the frige. ill gladly do a swap of pics for beers. what do you drink?

i currently have

PBR (always some available)
Nevada pale ale
corona
blackened voodoo lager

let me know when you want to get to work :D

I like beer, not lite, not malt liquor. My fav's are Canadian Lagers/Ales, Yuengling, Dos Equis, Paulaner (German Hefe) and any non sissy brew with body and plenty of hop flavour and bittering. BTW. I brew been and make wine too (when time permits).

FREE beer is GOOD beer... Even a FREE Coors Light is drinkable, just not enjoyable. I have 3 taps in the bar in the basement (just happens to be where the big tank is too). Coinscidence? Prolly NOT :)...

I think we need to set up some on location visit/photo shoot/beer or wind tasting "meetings" aye?

I hope this isn't too big this time. I am still trying to learn this piece. Had the camera only a month or so. This picture taking and etc. could be a great topic to do at one of the meetings in the future. Stacker and Steve seem to have a good grasp on this topic. You guys post nice pics!

The guy I got this from simply rubber bands 'em on for 2-3 days. I haven't pulled any off yet an I'm gonna give 'em some time to chill and start growing before I do anything with 'em.

Ashley7524

we have tried rubberbanding them but the always escape the rubberband and float around the tank.

STACKER
03/23/2005, 01:46 PM
You must be holding yer tongue the wrong way :) Maybe try a dry plug or rock, blot the foot of the colt (heh heh colts foot... botanical joke..) and stoopid glue both, then band , then put back in the tank. They are really slimy tho...

deepbluesea99
03/24/2005, 09:10 AM
ashley try a plastic toothpic and heat one end mash it flat so it looks like the head of a nail then jam it through the stalk into a piece of lr rubble that will hold it untill it gets a grip on the rock.oh ya put it in a moderate flow area of the tank.good luck

STACKER

Duct tape! (sorry, couldn't resist)

Reefer247
03/24/2005, 03:01 PM
super glue only holds for a few days (on alot of leathers) then the slime coat just breaks it free.. i take a toothpick and fray it in half.. then make sure its plyable bend it around a pice of rubble rock and rubberband it.. leave it sit in low current and in about a week its attached.. works for me just about every time.. if you do it to tight it just splits the coral.. has to be loose but just enough to hold in place.. i have other methods of doing this also just pm me.. later

Ashley7524
03/25/2005, 10:03 AM
I think I am going to try the duct tape yup that'll do it. lol j/k

Thanks for the ideas I will have to give a few a try until I find the perfect one.
