is that trip for multiple schools, my daughter brought home paperwork on a trip to chicago awhile back, we couldnt bring ourselves to trust her on a trip like that though.

maybe behind the scenes depends on how many people come

we go on our own, all the 6th graders (well 80% of them choose to go) but there are always tons of other school in the city at the same time...kids love it.

last year we ran into a group from frloida, some private school, they brought there entire 6th grade class (only like 25 kids) for something maddening like 12 days...they were insane... i need prozac after 2 days in chicago with them

i have been to chicago, lets see this year will make 4 or 5 times, this will be the 3rd class trip, i have nothing bad to say about the place...wonderful city, and i hate big cities...but i would live their given the opprortunity.

my school never dose anything cool like that we can't even afford buses to get kids to school

redpyro
03/01/2005, 09:01 PM
well we are poor too, the kids have to pay (well their parents) like $200 for the 2 days, we rent travel buses to go, also do some fundraising. then in 8th grade they repeat the process and go to DC.

yeah, newport would be fun.

chicago would be fun too (without 250 sixth graders), i would need more than prozac though.

Chi Town is GREAT!!! Although I've never gone with 250 sixth graders... :D

the first year we went to were suppossed to take a board ride on the chicago river, it was raining and the board was open topped...so we stood under a bridge for a hour with 250 6th graders before going to a very upscale mall for 4 hours with 250 6th graders...i needed a mega dose of drugs that night...god bless the hotel bar

I'd love a trip to Newport, especially if we could get a behind the scenes look.

An eventual trip to Shedd would be cool as well!!

I would definitely be interested. Even more interested if we can get some behind the scenes info!

I'd be interested too.

We got a mini behind the scenes tour last time we were there. My three year old son ducked into a side door as it opened and I said, "see, those pumps are like the ones on Daddy's tank, but much bigger" as I guided him back into the hallway. I ended up talking to the guy whose door we hijacked about tanks and saltwater in general and he took us back in for a bit. I was impressed with how contained and quiet everything was.

you can do that when you have big $$$

i have a daughter thats a student at North school, i feel so much better about the Chicago trip knowing the buses have bullet proof glass.
btw i thought i was the only one in Greenville that knows you can do more with salt than just sprinkle it on potatos:D
