Where do you get your salt?

The reason I ask is I buy it in 1000 Gallon purchases, it adds up.

Check the price at PetsMart online, if you print out the price they will match it at the store. Usually about $10 cheaper on a 160-200 bucket, plus no shipping cost.

Depends on the store.
I tried a couple of times at the Petsmart on Southside and they would only honor the price including the shipping, so no deal.

That only $44.00, I have seen much higher in this town. Sharpy wat Petsmart do you go to?

Don't forget that you can only get the 160 gallon buckets now, not the 200 gallon buckets like they have displayed on their website.
Just make sure you are comparing prices for the same size bucket.

Fish Mania has Red Sea for $45, is that brand any good?

reefkeeps,
I have heard mixed reviews on Red Sea, however the main plug for the product is that it is supposedly made from natural sea water as opposed to being synthetic.

In a previous experience, my reef tank flipped out (not in a good way) when I switched from IO to Red Sea.

Since you are buying 1000 gallons worth, it can't hurt to call around & see if someone will give you a bulk purchase "deal". If the stores won't do it...call some of the aquarium maint, businesses. Many times they peddle stuff on the side.

Good Luck!

Ocean reef was carrying IO in the bag/box. From what I could remember it was a great deal. Seems like you got the same amount as the bucket, for less. Just no bucket, give them a call to see, as it definitely was less than the buckets of IO.

OH yea, and that tank looks UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Ocean reef, is that the place on Atlantic?

yep, Atlantic Blvd. when you first get to the beach coming from town. Can't remember the size of the bags, but they were cheaper than the bucket prices (49 for 160g bucket). Oceanic and others had the 200g bucket for the same price.
