Looking into options. I am sick of hauling the 5 gallon containers every very other day from the kitchen to the tank. I am running a water line now, have the R/O on the way. I just need some Ideas of how to implement. I also have a dosing pump, but I would prefer to just use a valve direct from the R/O unit.
TIA

It's never a good idea to have a direct connection between your tank and a potentially infinite supply of fresh water. Think worst case - if you are away for a weekend and the valve fails open, or a leak develops in your sump, etc.

Derek,

I agree with Mike about not having an infinite supply of fresh water connected to your tank but many people do it anyway. Float switches are not that reliable.

I have my RO/DI unit under a bathroom sink connected to a sprinkler valve and a timer switch. See the plans at http://www.geocities.com/baucum.geo/reeftank/topoff.html . The RO/DI output line goes to a 37G top-off tank in a closet. A Reef Filler 1000 feeds kalk water to the reef tank. This works well for me. The 37G can hold about 3 weeks worth of make-up water. Very low maintenance.
