red slime

Ive had a bad problem with red slime ive tried everything. I purchased a product called red slime remover. The slime was gone in about 24 hours. I hope it stays gone. :

As you'll hear from others, chemicals aren't the answer to red slime. Something is creating an environment suitable to the bacteria. I had the beginnings of red slime in my 58. I replaced the 18 month old MH bulb (bulbs lose desired spectrum after about a year, the new spectrums can give way to undesireable algae blooms). The red slime went away within a couple days of the new bulb. Red slime also does not like flow, so if you can redirect a powerhead to the areas it's growing that may help.
Also keep your feeding in check and make sure your protein skimmer can handle your tank. Good luck!
