Has anyone got any Ideas on a cation\anion homemade DI unit?
I can get the cation and anion beads, but the guts and how to keep the beads in each seperate container w/out mixing is a little question. Im thinking of using this as a polishing unit after a RO/DI, you know, REAL clean H2O

My recommendation would be to look at the Kent
Refillable cartridges. They fit inside the clear cartridges sold for water purification and as part of RO/DI units. Use one for
anion resin, the other for cation resin.
you keep the resins in place with nylon filter bags or some filter floss.

I would place the separate DI unit ahead of the mixed bed unit that comes with the RO/DI. The mixed bed is more efficient,
but the separate beds are much more economical.
run in this way, the mixed bed cartridge should last for over a year. Also, the output water should be VERY pure.

Good Luck;

Still in the planning stage, Lights are high on the priority list. I was looking at filling a peice of PVC pipe, 3-4"dia and 10-12" long with cation or anion beads in a filter bag, inlet on top outlet on bottom same for the other canister. Hook them inline verticaly and feed by gravity. think this will work?
