a good friend of mine recently gave me an algae scrapper. made from pvc, it is an extremely versatile/inexpensive tool. create a handle long enough to get all the way into your tank. make a slight 30 - 45' angle with another inch or two, and finally cut a slice through the end of the pvc large enough to fit a razor blade in with a snug fit. it's the best algae cleaner i've found yet. gets in all the tough places, and removes stubborn coraline algae without a look back. of course, do no use a razor blade on an acrylic tank.

Sounds like a great idea! I'm going to make one for my acrylic tank using an old credit card on the end instead of a razor blade. Thanks!
