I just thumbed through the new Harbor Freight ad and there was a digital lux meter for $34.97.I just thought I would let everybody know in case they wanted one.

I had to check this out too. It sure looks to me like the ones selling for $130 in the aquaria catalogs. The website says $49.99, so I'm guessing the other is a sale price. Here's the picture from the Harbor Freight website:

Sorry,it is a sale price.I do really like this place and you can't beat prices like $49.99 for a 10" table saw(or at least that was what it was when I got one)

Doug--Did you have to seal the sensor with silicone or is it waterproof out of the box?

I have never had the nerve to submerse it.
Even if it is sealed, I think I am going to silicone it before it goes under. :)
BTW, since mine is 10 years old, it looks just a little different.

ok, just ordered mine. they didn't give you a choice on shipping. darn. my company woulda picked up next morning shipping. :) after the $10 shipping/handling charge it came to $59.98 or something like that. i'll keep you posted once it arrives....
