I am looking for a skimmer small enough to fit into my into my 10gallon. I prefer a cc skimmer like a small lees or berlin air powered skimmer. I you have one are willing to sell it to me please post here or pm me and also post the price. I prefer to buy it at a meeting if possible. I need one ASAP

I'm in need of a skimmer for a 20g and was looking at the Skilter...I'm glad I read this thread beforehand! Phew!

The message I've gotten about skilters is they're great for mechanical filtration, but there's a certain store down here, I won't say their name but it rhymes with Iquacon.... They had a skilter set up on every package deal they were selling, and you guessed it, not one had any skimmate in the top! Even though there was green hair algae all over the tank!

17" tall base to top of cup. 2" main body tube, cup is 3 1/2" wide. I believe water level should be about 13" up the body. It will take up a 3" by 2" corner of the tank. I'll give it a quick scrapedown, worst "dirt" is baby featherdusters, and coralline.

hmm i think my tank is only 10 inches deep. if it is i can always cut some of the uplift to match my dimensions. you know the base area. i want to see it first tho before i decide. it is almost a yes.

You know what, I'm looking at it again, it would be darn easy to cut this thing down. The tapered neck removes, leaving a straight tube 2" dia. The uplift tube would be easy as well. It would be NOTHING to make this thing 3 inches shorter... Now, performance wise, who knows!

this is a little off the subject but, maybe not......i have a friend in port saint lucie who runs a ten gallon reef. he uses no skimmer. he just changes a quart of water every day or so. the tank is perfect and he never has to add anything. the idea is to remove small amounts of water and the dissolved solids never build up. just a suggestion. all you need is to keep a 5 gallon pail of new salt water with an air stone in it. most people have thet around all the time anyways..........good luck.......jaime

well that is good jaime but i am keeping a sebae anemone in this tank with a pair of clowns. i really need a skimmer plus ludwigias is perfect for me. thanks for sharing that little morsel with us outprowllin.
