we had been calling it the 'dookie-cap' because it was turkey-turd-tan all this time (about a year and a half). it had been relegated to the back corner of my frag tank and pretty much forgotten. but my latest 'event' that caused my big sebae and 2 acros to bleach but most other things to get a growth and color spurt has made me rethink this guy's name and place in the pecking order...

Am I seeing it right? Pinkish with bluish rim?

oops, wrong login(darn wife). It kinda reminds me of pink fleece. Or maybe baby girl pink cause its about the same color we painted my daughters room before she came out a son(had to repaint everything).

i'd say lavendar with blueish rim in real life. maybe a hint of green to the rim- maybe 'aquamarine', but that sounds too wannabe-LE for my taste. it just started getting color, i'm hoping it's not done. i'm hoping it doesn't go full purple, i already have one of those.

we need more pics of individual corals in this forum i think. i'm very curious to see what's going on in the big-city.

well, it's not *that* cool guys. it was just *really* unexpected coming from the dookie-cap. it reminds me that 'divers don't collect brown corals'.

come on, i want to see some pics of the cool stuffs you guys no doubt have, since i can't just swing by...

Not the best picture, but it's one of my favorite pieces. It grew out of a misc. brown frag I picked up for free.

New Name for Cap. Hum, Can we call it Charlie's Cap.? (didn't think so- but had to try)
Brandon, I wish now - I had not turned down any brown frags!!! Very nice piece!

I have one that was like that no color at first, now i call it purple monster(i think its a wanabee though) but it looks nice. I had a large colony of it then it started to rtn on me, this was what i saved. Been growing without rtn for 3 months. Its base is growing and looks very healthy. http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/39993100_0158__Medium_.JPG
