I've set up a sump & refugium in my garage, but even though I've got a Mag5 in the garage as the return pump and a Mag5 in my overflow in the tank that goes to the refugium, my tank fills up faster than it empties.

While I haven't gotten this figured out yet, I'm confident I will fix it soon.

With that in mind, I'd like to get some sort of float-switch cut off thingie that will automatically cut off the appropriate pumps when water level gets to high... so that if a pump suddenly fails while I'm at work, I don't end up with either a flooded living room or worse... fish with no water!

I know nothing about float switches... I don't think I've ever seen one and I don't know what to look for... if they're as diverse as pumps and skimmers or very simple devices someone could make with a paper clip and a gum wrapper... I am totally clueless.

Are there any recommended brands? A price range that's good to stick in?

Thanks in advance,
ShellEy

in my opinion, jeff at life reef makes the best float switch, only problem is you usually have to wait 4 months to get one
