Wal-Mart (and I'm sure other places) are now selling flashlights that come with Red and Blue tint covers to the lense. It might be more handy than some of the things we've come up with as DYI to view at night.

In other words I can finally get that red plastic cup (that I put over the end of my flashlight) out of my fishroom.

Why the colored covers? I just use a regular flashlight. Is there a benefit to filtering the light?

The white light makes some creatures run for cover. The red light is a spectrum they don't see, so they behave normally and aren't disturbed....at least that's the way I've had it explained to me. :)

Ah cool. Sounds better than "Did you see that!?"
