NO bubbles on my RBTA

I have seen a lot of pic of RBTA and they look great with the large bubbles at the end of each tentacle. What is the reason for no bubbles at the end. Lack of light, flow, WHAT. Please help.

there are alot of theories (too much flow/not enough, too much food/not enough, too much light/not enough, ...). nobody really knows.

back when i had a few greens, they lost their bubbles. i have a baby left from them (foot left an unseen booger when i ripped them out) that has bubbles, as well as a rose that's in my frag tank at the moment.

if you look in my gallery at my 'full tank 7-31-2003' pic, you'll see them all strung out.

here's the baby. it's about the size of a nickel.
