My porky has not eaten in over a week. My readings are fine except nitrates which are at 80. I know, I know I am currently doing things to lower them. But any suggestions as to why he won't eat. I am feeding him jumbo freeze dried krill and he always chowed down. However the past week I have not seen him eat one bite. I have seen chunks of shrimp pass right by his mouth and he does not even attempt. Please help. I have had my tank well over a year and have not had a problem and do not want to lose this fish.

I will move this question to the Fish Care forum and see what those folks think. Good luck.

How long has it been since the last H2o change 80ppm that's pretty high does he show signs of stress rapid gill movement etc? You may want to look at oxygen levels and do the water change. Just a thought ;)
Any other fish / corals not doing well?

have you tried feeding any foods other than shrimp? silversides, clam, and squid are usally eagerly accepted as well.

really you haven't given much information on the situation of and in the tank, such as tankmates or any changes that you may have made recently that may have effected it's attitude.

I'm not sure how your puffer is doing. When I first got my little puffer about a month ago the only thing he'd eat is brine shrimp. I couldn't get him to eat anything else but I've gotten him to eat cocktail shrimp. The stuff you get at a grocery store. He's gone without food for a week due to bad weather not allowing brine harvesting in the bay.
Good luck
