Hi Randy, what is your take on this: http://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=210

Is there any credence to the claims made by both the manufacturer and the apparent salesman?

Some of it's claims are perfectly reasonable, and some totally bogus.

In the totally bogus category are any that relate magnetic fields to restructuring water. The far infrared reflection claims would be similarly bogus. I don't doubt that materials used by them reflect far infrared light, but I don't see how that is important to anything. The claims of the water being energetic are nonsense.

In the reasonable category is the claim that it removes 99% of bacteria. Loads of filters will do that. Even an RO should do that.

As to the goldfish thing, there isn't enough info given to know what took place. If you put a goldfish into a big container of cold water, it will not use much O2, and eat nothing (such as happens under a frozen pond). So if the container were large enough, there would be enough O2 present, and enough ability to soak up any expelled CO2, that the fish would live. However, the filter wouldn't be adding anything to this scenario.....

Thanks for taking the time to reply. There are all sorts of pseudo-scientific explanations but no real solid evidence.
