I've been waiting for a month now for my 10k PC lights. Backorder! for over a month! Whats up with that. Anyway they have offered to subsitute a 50/50 6700/10k bulb. I'm concerned about it looking a little yellow but I'm also tired of waiting. Anyone have any thoughts on the 6700/10k bulb?
Currently I have 2x65 actinc 03 and 2x65 10k's

Thanks

Mike

Bumpola....Someone must have experience with 6700K. Is it really yellow?

Thanks

I would wait, or try another supplier. I used 6700K on my freshwater tank and do think you will find it too yellow for a saltwater tank.

When I ordered lights I got a 6700 and 10K ..... I have not put them in yet but I have read (I think it is mentioned in the Tyree link?) that 6700 is a preferred spectrum for corals... closer to the natural spectrum?

Maybe the 10K will balance out the 67K

I guess it comes down to what your goal is..... ultimate light for the livestock (corals) or what you prefer to see... at least that is my understanding of lighting..?

I don't know why people say 6500K is yellow. If it is really 6500k it is NOT yellow. It is crisp white. You enter a blue spectrum when you start getting around 8000K. Maybe their water needs a little charcoal to get rid of the yellow. ;)

I like the look of 6500K lights. There is no yellow on my tank that's all I can say. As an experiment, go buy a spiral cf 6500k light and put it in one fixture and a regular spiral cf and put it in another and when you look at the 6500K one, it almost looks blue.

Take A quick look at my gallery. There is a light color chart in there. You may have seen it already but that's the reason I thought it might look a little yellow.
