Just want feedback for March's meeting.

Thanks

Brad

Oh, the frag fest would involve a charge for the purchase of the coral that is to be fragged

Brad A.

How much are people willing to chip in toward a coral to frag? I'm around $10-20

yeah up to $25 I imagine. Someone might have to babysit it for me though. but I hope my tank will be turned around by march.

Depends on what it is and how big the frag is...

If we're just talking an inch or so, probably around $15.

I've got room in my tank if you want to house the thing in my tank for a while. Only problem is that I work full time now (don't have friday's off to receive shipments) unless it's a saturday delivery.

i dont have the lighting to keep acros but i may sometime in the future so i am all about learning how to frag them. maybe we could frag a softie too if there is anyone interested.

I also dont have the lighting to support that with PCs, but as Lamphere stated I dont mind learning.

At some point we could also do an LPS frag. Something interesting like a wall colony (using maybe the rubberband method or something), or an acan.

SHOmuchFUN
01/07/2005, 12:48 PM
Yeah, how about a 12 head ACAN LORD? :D

Let's frag one of those.

Yeah, we don't have the lighting to support an acropora, but I'd love to do some softies. Even just learning about the acros would be cool though.

PC's arent going to cut this one I dont think. However, I do like the looks of this one. If I was to throw in for a frag, could someone hold it in their tank for me until I upgraded my lights? I do have a MH kickin around, and I'm going to be building a new hood, so...

SHOmuchFUN
01/19/2005, 02:22 PM
Yeah Ethan, I've got room if you want...

You can decide whether my tank is worthy or not when you come on the 29th.

Yo Erik,

Dont think that I didnt go right to your gallery to see how worthy, like james, your tank is.

But seriously, I've seen the pics you've posted and I dont think that is a concern in the least. I really appreciate your offer.

Ha!
I have to change my gallery, those pictures are a bit dated, probably 5 or so months old... I still have a piece of Tom P's A. Elseyi in my tank that keeps growing and coloring up that'll get fragged when he gets his redbugs in check.

I don't mind being the acrorphanage :D

Hey Brad, thanks by the way for picking up that coral for us. I didn't doubt that you'd pick anything but the best. Let us know when you need the green.

Get yourself a 400w HQI radium. I'm convinced they're the best but pricey.

Yah that would be nice, but might boil my 30G. I do have a 175w laying around, I just need to build a hood for it. Also get a bulb, the only one I have is a 6500k.

Brad A.
01/20/2005, 04:27 PM
For the slimmer frags we have:

Eric
Ethan
Tom B
Tom P
Bob
Brad

Good, looks like we'll be able to cover the cost of the coral.
I'll pay the shipping charge. $10

Its always more fun when you can chop up a really nice coral and spread it around.

later all
see you in march or maybe feb.

The coral is here. Hopefully by March it will be well adjusted to captive life. Right now its not looking too good. It came in with some lost tissue.

SHOmuchFUN
01/28/2005, 10:50 AM
How is it fairing? I saw the small frag at Tom B's when I picked my stuff up. It didn't look much like the picture, it must've lost a lot of color. Keep us updated and good luck nursing it back to health. We don't want to lose this one.

Brad A.
01/28/2005, 10:57 AM
Yeah, especially since I paid nearly $200 for it!

SHOmuchFUN
01/28/2005, 11:03 AM
Chris'll make it right if it decides to take a turn for the worse... I wouldn't be worried about THAT. But it was a beautiful looking coral.

Brad A.
01/28/2005, 05:45 PM
I think about 50% of the coral will make it, we'll see

Coloration is nice.

Now looks like 2/3 of the youngei will survive.
Looks good so far. Hopefully it will grow by march.

I've got my fingers crossed...

Brad A.
02/27/2005, 06:11 PM
Your finger crossing has worked. The coral looks great and is growing.

Frag date is now in April.

Brad A.
02/27/2005, 09:30 PM
Sorry the camera sucks.

The coral is recovering very well. It looks great in real life.

You can see in the original RM pic, the coral had no polyp extension. Here the polyps cover up a lot of the yellow.

Brad A.
03/08/2005, 06:56 PM
If the fresh water club meeting is not going to happen, we can still meet over here for a frag fest.

Anybody want to meet in March instead of April?
