January 30th Meeting

Our first meeting is going to be held January 30th at my place. Everyone is invited, and encouraged to attend. 2:00 pm will be the start time. I am still working out parking arrangements, since I live in an apartment, but I think the best plan is to meet in the Gulliver's Grill+Bar parking lot at 2:00 pm and then a couple of us can drive over to my place (a block or two away.) Gulliver's is located right off HWY.41. Take the Breezewood (Bell st.) exit. If you are coming south on 41 it is the last Neenah exit. If you are coming North, it is the 1st Neenah exit. Gulliver's is on the west side of the highway. I will get there a little early. I drive a blue 2001 VW Jetta, with a "Work harder, millions on welfare depend on you! " bumper sticker. I came up with an agenda, this is not set in stone, so if you have suggestions, speak up !

2:00-2:45 Introductions, tell a little about your set-up and what you hope to get out of the club.
2:45-3:15 Host tank presentation
3:15-5:00 work out structure of club (leadership, meeting schedules, projects)
5:00-5:30 trade frags (if you have arranged a swap).
After the meeting we could return to Gulliver's for dinner/drinks if anyone is interested. Again, this is just an outline for our first meeting, so we can get together and start planning what we really want to get out of the club. I will place it on the calendar. Thanks to mherrb for getting us going. I will host the second meeting (pending approval at the first meeting) and come with directions etc. Maybe we can set up a calendar of meeting places and dates similar to what Wi Reefers utilizes.

I am not a member of WRS (yet). I just moved here a few months ago so I am still figuring things out.

Shel, carpooling sounds good. I am still a tentative yes as my rowing club has a indoor race going on that day as well. I will find out what my time commitment with that is and let you know.

Just wanted to bump this up and confirm the information. I will be getting to Gulliver's around 1:45 on Sunday, and will park out in the lot away from other cars. We will have to shuttle over to my apartment (sorry !)

Folks,

I am not going to make it up there this weekend. Really sorry to bug out on this, I was totally looking forward to it but I just think by the time I get done with the race here in Madison and all the way up there in the snow, I will miss most of the good stuff at the meeting (like maybe all of it!!). I am just going to stay local and hit the Madison meeting later that eve so I dont feel like a total social reject.

Catch you all next month I hope. For the folks that I was bringing stuff for, if you are going to be down this way anytime soon pm me and we can arrange to meet up. Otherwise, we can just do it next month.
