Anyone have any idea of how many feet of head loss I should add when spec'ing a new pump/scwd setup?

How big's your tank?
I'm running a Mag 9.5 with about 3 feet of head through a SCWD on my 90 and I get mucho flow. I've estimated conservatively a 40% head loss all things considered. If I didn't have the locline nibs pointed down they'd blow water out of the tank.

I have a 37 Gallon cube. I was planning on using a Quiet One 4000 which has a flow rate of 1017 at 0 ft. and a max head of 13ft. SCWD has failed to respond to my emails. They should figure out a ft. factor to add in when configuring a pump. I would like to be able to ditch my SEIO 620 but with 40% flow loss and 3 ft. of head + 2 return U-tubes, it doesn't seem possible to get 800gph out of this pump. I wish they made one with 1" connections. I looked at the Oceans Motions Squirt and like it alot. It is just alot of money to spend on such a small tank. Check out this link:

Rob,
Just remember that only one of the returns will be working at any one time. I doubt you'll have any troubles getting 800 gph out of that pump. In fact, I bet you're going to get more flow than you want. :)

You think so? Even with your 40% reduction guestimate?
