I have read many negative posts on various boards regarding RIO pumps. I would be interested in everyone's experience with these pumps. Thanks everyone. Jimi

I have had 2 rios blow up in my sump.

I would recommend MAG Drive.

I use the MAG DRIVE 18

I've had one Rio pump smoke in my sump a few years ago. I've had quite a few that just got too noisy to tolerate. I would never consider using one of these for anything other than mixing saltwater.

Similar experiences here. Had a rio 2500 that lasted one year, before it just died. I thought "maybe our experience would be different, rio's can't be that bad..." I was wrong.....

We're running a MAG 700 and 1200 on our tanks now. We like them a lot!

I have not had one blow up in my tank but I do notice my RIO 2500 raises the temperature by 2 degrees. I took the RIO out of there and the temperature is much more stable in the summer. I have a SEN 700 and I like it a lot.

How much head pressure is the MAG 700 and 1200 at 4 feet? I am looking to get another pump soon and want to compare. How much were the pumps? Also, is the pump submersible or do you attach it outside of your sumps?

Thanks,

Mike
