My new skimmer..

Well I was shocked to get my skimmer yesterday(seeing that it was a sunday) and I read over the directions and put it together and put it on the back of my tank..Well I played around with it untill it was at the water line but after I walked away for awhile and came back and it was below the water line..Well I played around again untill all was okay and I went to bed,well the water line was not that far off but I had no gunk,it said it would take about 12hrs to start making the waste go into the cup but I saw nothing..So my question is this,how long does it really take to produce waste in the waste cup??

my HOB skimmer took 2 weeks to break in. Not sure what your break in period is. Ive never heard of the pump that came with your skimmer though.

I got my answer,I was told it takes anywhere from a week - 3 weeks..Its has to build up some kind of coating on the inside of the skimmer to help the foam reach the top...
