I recently purchased one from MLF and noticed once I got home that it had a dead polyp on one side.. Will this continue through out the piece. It has at least 15 good looking polyps with no noticable necrotic tissue formation anywhere else????

FEEding??? I know you can train them to eat at certain times but I dose my zoanthids (DT, cyclopeez, Mysis) every 3 days,,,

If done directly can They be fed every three days as well???

Probably. I try to feed mine every other day. But sometimes is ends up being every 3rd day and sometimes I feed 3 days in a row. I've had mine for over a year now and its doing good.

I wouldnt worry too much about the dead polyp as long as you make sure to feed it that shouldnt spread.

I would recommend feeding a distressed sun coral daily. I take mine out of the aquarium, transfering the coral underwater to a seperate container, to feed it. That way you can dose the water heavily with zooplankton and make sure that all polyps are feeding. When the coral shows marked improvement you can feed it regularly in the tank.

The suggestion about bowl feeding is also very good if you have a tank under say 40 gallons or so. Just think about the amount of waste from food that gets away from you that the coral doesn't eat. This killed my 20L.

At the minimum you should cut the current for a little while during the feeding.

Do these sting? I know they are supposed to be handled carefully, but do they sting?

Not anymore trouble that cutting up squid for a RTBA or rolling up nori sheets after soaking them in vitamins and garlic.

That cyclopleeze is a lifesaver so all you need is a turkey baster.
