With the galaxia corals I've seen they are all fully extended. What do they look like while retracted? I'm looking to buy one from a LFS but it is a white cluster with green centers. I can see some extension (1/8'' or less) but nothing near what pics I've seen of them. Just trying not to spend $50.00 on a skeleton.

They look simila to a candy cane coral closely packed together, just be careful when you do get it since they have long sweeping tentacles.

I would have to say, be careful that it isn't having problems for if it has stayed mostly closed up, it might be sick.

I got one from a buddy that looked like you are describing. it is starting to come back in my tank, growing heads on the old dead ones. I would not spend money on one unless you have a lot of reaestate in your tank. I was worried when one of the mushrooms floated by, seeing how bad mushrooms can be. the galaxi made short work of it.

i've had mine for 2 yrs. it has short polyps then the sweepers are about 3-6" keep everything away from those sweepers there pretty much an indestructable corel mine attaches to rocks close by and spreads mine always seems to do better in real strong current

Deffinately watch those sweepers. I heard that they get longer with higher flow, anyone else experience this.

I think my maze brains got longer with higher flow.
