What are the lighting requirements for the red encrusting goni? Also, will they spread to another rock easily?

I don't have one yet, just researching. I have read that the red/pink ones are easier to keep, so was curious? Also I guess there is a difference between the ball type than the encrusting type, and so that is of interest to me as well.

Any information/experience here?

Thanks,
Chris

I have a red one, purchased it last week. Are you taking about the photosynthetic varieties or the non-photosynthetic varieties? The non-photo ones prefer med-low light, and high current with frequent feedings from the research I did before hand. The photo ones require med-high light and good flow.

Errrm, not sure what you are talking about.

Goni's are all photosynetic(sp).

No one really know what it takes to take care of these corals. Some lucky few are able to keep then alive, but nearly every one dies before they make a year in a tank.
