View Full Version : Why does reef central transfer me to Amazon.com everytime i log on?

Every time i log on at the end of the page loading i get taken to the amzon.com page featuring marine books? Am i the only one this is happening to? It is very annoying.

It is wierd I know but as soon as the page is loaded i have to click stop as soon as i see the Amazon.com contacted pop up. I can barely use the page anymore. Wierd thing is is that it is not a complete page but a partially complete page and it only shows 2 book titles. The titles always chnge though!

I've never had this happen to me at work, but when I use my parents old 486 at their place this happens as well. The page loads up then you get dumped to what ever advertising banner is at the top of the page. But for some reason you don't get the full web site.

I never had this problem a couple of months ago so it might be due to some changes made since then.HTH.

Which OS and browser version? Sounds like a problem on the client end.

I am using Internet Explorer version 3.0. Its old i know but i have not gotten around to upgrading. It just started a couple of weeks ago and then went away for a week or so than came back?No other sites do this. The PC is a 266mhz so its a little better than a 486 but i am not that computer savy so who am i to say.

Its wierd if you click it 3 times you will get 3 different book combonations!

LOL! I tried it and got about 6 different sets of books. Looked like good books. I know you can upgrade you IE off the net. When my son reinstalled Win 98 for us we had some weird problems. He had just assumed it came with IE5.0. They all went away after that.:D

I would recommend that you upgrade your browser to IE5.5
