I was doing some measuring today. I have a 44 gal Corner tank that I am putting together. I am going to put in a 250w halide but since the angles are funny I have no room for any bulbs longer than 20 inches long for actinic lighting. What options do I have? any suggestions would be great.

I think they make a 18" NO blub that would fit. Or, you could just use a 14K or 20K bulb with no actinic.

PC are pretty short. I think 36 watt pc are around that length.
Via Aqua makes a few that are pretty cheap.

My vote is for 250 DE 14k bulb. No actinic needed, so a nice, tidy install (unlike all of my tanks)

Some of you might be surprised that I don't recommend a 400, but, not everyone wants or can afford a chiller.

All I have to say it a DIY auto top off and a lot of fans. 2-3 fans are way cheaper than a chiller and works just as well.
