How Long are a torch corals sweepers supposed to be, or how big is this monster gonna get? i cant keep any corals within probably about a 12-15" radius around this coral? Is this normal or do i just have a big torch coral?

What's the flow like? More flow on euphyllias usually equals longer sweepers.

My torch's sweepers barely extend past the regular tentacles.. Its in a moderate - low current..

mine extend about 4 inches at times in moderate current; seems like they mostly wind up hitting itself!

when I said 4 inches, i meant 4 inches from the fully expanded torch's regular tentacles

I was just wondering,I have never observed sweepers with my Euphylia spp. and thought that they might only use them when in the presence of certain corals.

well, lemme kill that theory on the softy idea... my tank is a 50/50 softy / lps tank. Plenty of types of softies, and barely a sweeper...

Looks like you might have to make a couple of frags out of it, just to cut it down a bit. I had to do that with my torch, and also my frogspawn. When fed on a regular basis, they grow pretty fast.

ok i see, yeah guys when its sweepers arent out its tentacles are about 6"long. i see all these pictures of tanks with torch and then a softie 4" away... Just wondering if you all saw the pic and read. Remember in the pic the frogspawn is a little bigger than a softball. Do you guys have pics of your torch's?? ALso what do you guys feed yours?

No, I don't either. Cyclopeeze is really fine in texture. You can barely see it. I figure that the powerheads can really distribute it around the tank. The fish like it too.

i already feed that to the tank but now way of spot feeding it!

Then I would turn off whatever you have for circulation, I did last night, and it worked out great. Was able to spot feed anything that I wanted.
Good Luck!
