I have a 400W 20K halide i was using over my sps tank. Is it going to be harmful over a tank with alot of LPS?

It will be fine, if you research and choose corals that come from intense light environs. Many LPS also "color up" nicely under intense light. Also be sure to acclimate any new LPS to the new light. As the saying goes, start low and move up(kinda like the Jeffersons).

I have 3 400 watt halides over my 4 foot tank, with 4 VHO's. I keep the LPS at the bottom and the SPS at the top. One or two LPS made their way on the rockwork, but for the most part, they are on the sand bed.
Tank is 24" deep.

I have two 400w radiums. Most of my LPS are in the corners of the tank or on the sand. I also have two actinic t5 for sunrise and sunset simulation.
