As stated above, do any local shops have a good price on IO buckets. Locally I can get it for $70, mail order $55 but I have to wait.

What size bucket are these prices for? The new 160g or the old 200g bucket?

Petsmart.com has the 160 gallon bucket for $31.99 and its brick-and-mortar stores will price-match the website if you bring a print-out with the price from the site.

Charlie, to get the best value you don't order it from the website because they DO charge like $14 for shipping. Instead, you print off the page showing the price of the Instant Ocean (or whatever product you want to buy-- it works for all merchandise) and bring it to the store. The cashier will sell you the item for the website price instead of the in-store price. You get the best of both worlds- the lower website price without the cost of shipping.

Here's the link for the page you need to show them:

Disclaimer: Petsmart may be just a little bit evil, and shopping there may or may not guarantee you will spend eternity in hell.

Or so I hear. :p

Thanks for the link Andrew I can get 2 buckets for what 1 would have cost at the stores around here.

You can find sweet deals on closeouts if you browse the web hard enough. I got the 55lb bucket of Tropic Marin from Big Al's for $37.99 + $14 freight.

I use Aquacraft's Biosea for my reef tank. Have had extremely good results with it, mixes crystal clear, hardly had to stir. IMO, works even better than Tropic Marin. But you can only order it directly from the manufacturer in Cali (www.aquacraft.net). If you mention code "888" (ad posted on Aquarium Reef Guide.com), you get 10%. I just got 150 gal of it for $64 shipped (prior to finding out the code). This stuff is made seasonally, so quantities are limited. If you have a reef tank, I highly recommend this salt!!!

Originally I heard about it on another forum, but I've used it myself a few times. I got a $70 AC 500 for about 35 bucks, and I got a discount on IO salt as well.

I was told they will match the website price BUT after adding regular shipping. So for the price of bag with salt it does not make any difference.
Check this thread on the usenet: google-link (http://www.google.com/groups?threadm=v-Cdnbr0oOLYEQXcRVn-1Q%40comcast.com)

Well, I can only speak for myself. This one store matched the web price for me *without* shipping. For you locals, I'm talking about the one next to Barnes and Noble in the shopping center at the intersection of Broad and Libbie.
