I picked up an Elegance last week in Toledo. I was looking for frog spawn and was not so familiar with the Elegance. I was traveling on business so no chance to research. I did the ultimate sin by purchasing prior to research. I was familiar with the elegance but since last week someone forwarded a link to a discussion about this time last year and early this year in which it was discussed that these corals are being over harvested and survival now is not so good. Either way, I got it now, it is in a 125g reef, mostly soft corals, couple of tangs, sitting about 3 inches under water. I am using 4X165 VHOs. I was thinking of moving him (again not good for a new resident) to the sandy bottom. ANY suggestions?????

Generally, most elegance corals are collected from sandy areas and have conical based skeletons. They are sandbed corals so i would move it down.Good luck with it,hope its not doomed like so many of them are.
