Reefscience had one like that and was identified as a type of acanthastrea.

I'd say Favite

I agree, but it's a very unique color morph.

Yeah I saw it on a website and the guy described it as a Favites but he said it could very well be an Acan. The biggest thing I noticed is the nobby polyps. I have favites and it dont look anything like that.

How can you tell the difference of Favia and Favites?

redFishblue I think you are right on the money!

I showed him your picture and he said it was exactly the same and he didn't raise the price yet so thats a good thing :-D

100% that its not favites... but your right its 100% not bowerbanki either. He wrote me back and said it was Acanthastrea hemprichii:

Here is a picture looks like a spot on match to me...

Not sure what type, but I would almost lay my collection on it that its an acan. I will check further this evening, but off the top it does indeed seem like hemprichii. Any pics of exposed skeletons?

The bumps on yours aren't fleshy, they are flesh covered spikey skeleton. Unlike favites.

The corallites of Favia are plocoid(individual amd seperate from each other),the corallites of Faviites are ceriod(shared common wall)
