Best Placement for Torch?

Are these guys better off placed in the sand or is it okay to wedge them between rocks?

I have mine towards the top wedged between some lr but I always see them down in the sand..Id put mine down there but my pistol shrimp is always messing with things near the bottom..
He steals frags and if he cant carry it away he will cover it up..

I have a hammer (similar), and it is on the rock and very happy. It is branching, so I dont know how I would secure it in sand if I had to to be honest.

I like to keep all my Euphyliia corals on the LR,but if you have the lighting,the SB probably wont hurt it.I like to mount mine with epoxy and super glue to the LR,they can also be mounted horizontal for a realistic affect

I just talked to my wife on the phone and she said my octopus is huge today (dont ask for some reason she calls it a octopus) so I guess its doing good where its at...
