I have a pair of true percs that have fallen in love with my wellsophyllia. Will hosting clowns become problem for this coral? Please advise.

welcome to the board - someone will have the welcome banner handy, no doubt. is your coral extended? I have a damsel - neopomacentrus cyanamos- that exhibits hosting behavior in my open brain- no harm so far.

thanks for the reply. It is extended but i am not sure if it would extend more if it was left alone. i got it about 6 weeks ago. the clons have been hosting for about 2 weeks.

I have one orange skunk who is hosting my wellso(aka.Trachyphyllia geoffroyi) I have seen no ill effect's from the clown. sometime's the wellso will deflate a little when the clown rubs it hard, but perks up pretty quickly. The clown also will steal the wellso's food even though he will not eat it due to the slime. That seem's to bother it most when it is trying to feed.

thanks for the feedback jango.. 7 month and no ill effects is good to know.
I was considering adding a anemone to my tank, but I heard that they are not good for a reef due to movement and possible coral stinging. I think hold off and keep my eye on it.

yeah I would just keep an eye on it if you see the coral really stressed out for an extended period of time I would seperate them.....
