If i can get some advice from you guys. I have been cycling my tank for about 3 months now. Can you give me some tips on the first corals I should buy. I am planning to buy from internet retailers like PA.

Tank specs:
-55 gallon with overflow.
-100 lbs of live rock and DSB.
-AquaC remora hang on skimmer.
-2 power heads.
-220 watt jbj pc lighting(runs about 8 hours a day)
-Amarical wet/dry filter w/bioballs removed, basically just water movement.

all parameters are under control.
Nitrate, nitrates, ammonia all under control.
ph: 8.4

one maroon clown fish, a small bubble tip anemone, some mushrooms, button polyps, lots caulpera on the live rock.

I have an aptasia problem also.

I am thinking of buying some peppermint shrimp to tackle the aptasia problem.

Can you guys give me advice on where to go from here. I am open to all suggestions.

thanks guys,
poorboy, aka waterboyjr

Their might be a problem with the powerheads and the BTA. Many reefers have found their anemone stuck in their Power Heads. If you have that taken care get a tank raised BTA from someone like Dr. Mac.

Get a scopas Tang (Most hyper Tang I've ever seen and really fun to watch). But can be a bully fish

You don't have any Turbo Snail?

How about Scooter Blenny? Cute and Funny

Jaw Fish -- Love the way they dig around and look at you with personality :))

A tang in a 55 gallon tank is not a good idea, IMO. They get too big.

Scooter Blennies are members of the dragonet family and require lots of live food to survive. Also not a good choice, IMO.

As for what corals to add... How about some tank raised soft corals? You can find a list of sources by clicking on the link in my signature.
