I would like to know if anyone has any info on Abolone Snails. If you or anyone you know has kept them in thier reef tanks.
Also what kind of price they are going for in lps.

We had 3 in our 125 reef tank. Two of them lived for about a year and 1 lived for about 2 years. They were great! The reason for their deaths, I believe, is that if they fall on their backs, they cannot right themselves like a turbo snail. So you have to monitor them.

I have no idea what price they would be in a LPS, I do know that they have become more and more expensive.

They go for less than $30 in Richmond---mostly due to the fact that they are mostly aquacultured now. I've found that unless you have a decent amount of microalgae, they won't survive, though. Perhaps I've done something wrong, but I've not had great success with them in the past. Call me crazy but the wild ones seemed to do better. Maybe they are aquaculturing a coldwater species?!
