Lets get some pictures up on everybody's marine tanks in the OKC and surrounding areas. Since I still can't figure out how to post a pic on the board, here are a couple of pages of my reef.

Here's my favorite fish, along with a frag I got from Finman. Also a healthy growth of diatoms. :D The antenna of a tiger pistol shrimp can be seen just behind the goby.

Well, that didn't work.

Colin, how do you attach images.

JasonF

I can host images for OKC members if needed. Send them to jasonf1@home.com and I will email back the URL. To place them inline, just click the IMG button and type in the url for the shot.

If they are less than 128K, you can go down to the "attach file" box, hit browse, and locate the file on your computer. It will upload to the BB when you hit "submit reply".

If it's bigger than 128K, you need some web space. You hit the IMG button under vB code and type in the web address of the pic. In my case, I hit the IMG button and typed in http://home.mmcable.com/csmith/coral.jpg . I had previously uploaded the pic to my personal web space.

I hope this works.http://pages.prodigy.net/fingrp/reef10-15-01.html

Ok, I did what Colin said to do with the IMG button and putting in the web page address, so what happened?

JasonF
11/07/2001, 03:58 PM
The properties reflect back to an html document. The first pic on that page would have this address

http://pages.prodigy.net/fingrp/11-01-2001%2075Reef.JPG

It needs to be a jpg, gif, or png to show up as an image.

Colin, what kind of camera are you using? Is it digital or 35?
Did you every get your bubble anemone?

Colin
11/07/2001, 09:49 PM
It's a cruddy old Polaroid PDC-700 digital. Takes lots of patience to get a decent tank pic out of it.

Yep, got him a couple of weeks ago, along with a maroon clown (true perc didn't like the bta).

Here's some pics (http://www.geocities.com/dondavisiii/donstank.html) of my 125 and a few frags I have. The picture quality is bad and I haven't cleaned my tank in a while. This page is just a quick hack job. It really does look better in person.

Hello everyone!

First off I am so glad to have stumble upon this forum. I consider myself new to this hobby because I am always learning something new. It is great to see pics of your tanks. Maybe one of these days we could see each others tanks in person!! Is it possible that you guys could post some specs (lighting, tank size, filtration, etc.) of your tanks. Where do you guys get your livestock and equipment? Do you do any mailordering?

Thanks,
Mickster

BTW, HELLO Jason, I ran into you at Aquariums in Edmond.

Hi Mick,

I have a 55G "Tub" tank, 36"x19"x20" (very similar to a 58). It is lit by 4x95W VHO's and skimmed by an AquaC Remora HOB (sumpless). Dawn/dusk is provided by a 13W PC. I get most of my stock from frags or from Aquariums.

HTH,

Welcome Mickster, I'm Don, and I am an addict. It's always nice to meet new people from Oklahoma. Until a couple of months ago I thought I was the only person in Oklahoma with this addiction. As it turns out, I am not alone. There are actually enough people with this disease in Oklahoma City to form a club!!! We are going to try to meet again before the end of the month.

I will start a new thread for posting tank specs.

Hey everyone!

I've been doing this for about 5 years now, but only discovered Reef Central last month.

Here's my baby.

29g
2 x 55 watt Hamilton PCs, with 10K and True Actinic
2 Fluval 304 canisters running empty for circulation
~45 lbs. live rock
~2.0" CaribSea Special Grade Reef Sand

Green-tip frogspawn
Branching hammer
Yellow polyps
Green mushrooms
Red mushrooms
Red open brain
Flower leather
Cabbage leather
Red Sea pumping xenia, multiplying like crazy
Green star polyps
Colt
Red feather duster rock
Candy coral
12" LTA
Unidentified SPS (upper left)
Red macroalgae (feather calerpa? more like fern)

2 spawning peppemint shrimp
Red and blue leg hermits

Yellow clown goby (Okinawae)

Striped Mandarin - DON'T FLAME ME
I've read all the posts. I know what it takes. Some of the corals are relatively newer, but the tank has been up and running for over 4 years. Obviously, the tank wouldn't be able to support all the pod life the mandarin would need, but she happily eats frozen brine shrimp, mysis, blood worms, marine cuisine. She'll even swim to mid-water to catch them. So yes, I'm lucky.

Soon, I'll be moving it all into a 75g Oceanic with 30g sump with DSB.

Nice tank Little Reefer. Where do you get most of your critters and corals at?

Little Reefer, welcome to the forum.

That is a very nice tank. Would you be interested in parting with one of those red mushrooms? I have lots of frags to trade.

I go to Aquariums in Edmond quite a bit. Now and then, I'll go to the Reef Shop, but they're expensive. Unfortunately, I naively bought from them a "PINK" colt from them. Luckily for me, it has survived as is now growing well in its normal color.

Since I'm in Norman, I go to Crystal Clear Aquatics for most of my supplies. David and Janeille are awesome people!

I have to admit though, that most of my current corals are from the Dallas area. My girlfriend and I go on little road trips down there alot and their selection and prices are better. Boutique Pets is real nice. Bill is real helpful, and when he found out we came all the way down from Oklahoma he took off a bit here and there to make up for our gas. He ended up giving me about $30 off of $130 total. That's where I got my 12" green LTA for $40. Not a bad price for a LFS!

Don, sure I'd be willing to trade one of those mushrooms. They're really a nice color addition. Like you, I'm just now discovering that there are so many people in OKC into reefing. I'd love to meet everyone at the next get together.

I've also got Red Sea Pom Pom xenia growing like crazy. Starting to frag that all the time.

Do you go into Crytal Clear quite a bit? I might have seen you in there then. I go to school at OU.

Colin, this is exactly the same address I have on the clown picture above. I copied and pasted it from the edit page.

Now as you can see it doesn't produce a picture in the post. Is this my web site's fault or is somthing changed on how you post picture on this board?

Your missing the first [ in your image tag for that line. The pic shows up fine when I cut and past the URL itself.

You guys are right about the bracket missing but I tried to post the same exact url address that I copied from this thread to the hitchhiker post and couldn't get it to work. Here is the link to that post. I didn't ever go ahead and post the picture on this thread I just previewed it and the pic came up. But when I copied it the hitchiler post it didn't work.

The hitchhicker thread specifies images must be attatched. They probably have image posting from remote hosts disabled.

Finman

How do you attach an image?

Colin
11/28/2001, 06:22 PM
Just go to the "Attach file" box between "Options" and the "Submit Reply" button. Click on Browse, and locate the file on your hard drive (not your web site). It will be uploaded when you submit.

Note that attatched files can only be 128K maximum in size.

Well I can post pictures off my web site but I can't get the attach file off my hard drive to work. You can't have everything I guess. Thanks for the help.
