ACK!!!! What's happenin to my LR?!

Yesterday I placed my LR into my tank.... was nicely covered in purple coraline... its now 2am Sunday morning, and lots of that nice purple coraline is turing greenish... what's happening!?

You are more than likely getting an initial algae bloom. If you've had you lights on it is almost guaranteed. You do not need your lights on while cycling your tank. I have found that it usually helps you bypass a huge chunk of that algae phase new tank go through. Once your tank cycles you can slowly increase your light cycle to a regulated schedule w/o a huge problem...

Physh is right, its just you first algae bloom. Dont worry about it. Keep your lights off until you have gone through your cycle. YOur Coraline is still thier but it is just covered by algae. once you have cycled you can get snails, hermits ect to take care of the problem.
