I've got a question about what lights to use for my refugium. I built a refugium like Skipper and Carlos and it's all setup. My problem is I can't find the Lights Of America brand you guys recommend, Wal-Mart and Home Depot do not carry them here. So I was wondering if these would work from LampsNow http://www.lampsnow.com/13wretrokit.html Think these would be enough, or no?

Thanks

Hi SteveMH.
13 watts is not much. Two of them would probably work, though. The Lights of America model that I am using is the 27 watt unit. Carlos uses the 65 watt model and gets much more macroalgae growth than I do. Custom Sea Life also makes a nice 27 watt quad unit. Here (http://www.championlighting.com/cgi-bin/catalog.cgi?page=Products/Lighting/pc.html&cart_id=3296104.17052) is one.....item number SL27/67K, although it is more than twice the cost! Another idea....maybe we will get lucky and someone viewing this thread will volunteer to buy one for you at their local Home Depot and ship it to ya.

Yeah hey, that'd be perfect! :D

Thanks for putting your design on your web page, it was a big help. My stand is getting pretty cramped for space and the little refugium fit in just perfect.

Steve:
I opened a new thread requesting assistance from someone in our busiest forum. I am hopeful we will get a volunteer. Good luck to ya....

Guys, they are available online here (http://www.energyguide.com/gear/product2.asp?pfid=258&zipcode=33710&uid=1). If you don't want to go that route then you can do it the way I did and that is go to your HD lighting department and give them this SKU #343177 LOA Model #9266 and ask them to special order it. They may give you the run around, but if you stick to your guns they will order it in from a store that carries it. None of the FL stores stocked that light so mine had to be requested from a store in the Atlanta area.

Thanks, I think I'll order the one on the web page. That one looks like the one Carlos has. No need to have someone go out of their way when I can order it online. I appreciate the help!
