Well, it's been over 10 hours since I first started to get that message, any idea on a timeline for the fix yet?

Same here, the strange thing is that it seems like other people seem to be posting there.

Maybe someone dosn't like us?;)

I've noticed that too. WHo are these people and how are they able to post?

Still can't get through at home or at work. I've sent an email but I wonder if that gets through to the RC server. Hopefully admin. will frequent this board.

Another question is... we can all post on this forum (obviously), but why not the others?

Well, everything seems to work except my profile and the reef discussion... is that the same scenario for most of us?
Last time there was a problem, though, reefcentral.net worked when .com wouldn't. Not the case this time.
I'm sure we would all like to know what the problem is, but honestly I'd rather they spent the time fixing the problem than telling us about it. :) I'm sure John is working on it, and doesn't need any more emails about the problem.

People can continue posting if they have the URL of a specific thread, threads will still come up, but the index will not. All other forums I have tried seem to be working fine.

Hope this helps,
Iostream

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Larry,

I have watched the same amazing message for over 13 hours now (a "slight problem"????). Others are managing to post to the reef discussion board (as evidenced by the "last post" info on the main message board page), but at least a few of us are out of the loop.

Kevin

Can somebody, other than us poor souls out of the reef discussion forum, say something about the problem?

It is just too frustrating to see how others can get in and we cannot. :sad2:

All I can say is that I am trying to figure out what the problem is. Once I do, then I can try to correct it. I created a new forum to use in the interim. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you John. :)

Thanks John, we appreciate your efforts. Did the original forum just become too large to handle?

OK, we seem to be back to normal. The server crashed early this morning and the DB got corrupted. I just finished recovering the DB and it seems we did not loose any information.

Sorry about the frustration, folks!

OK, just don't let it happen again. :D

I get very irritated when I can't get my RC fix in the morning.
