Anyone interested in phyloplanton? (Marine algae) I have been growing a Platymonus and Stephanoptera mix. I can bring you a soda bottle of the stuff if you want it. From it you can use some and save some to make your own culture.

I can bring them to the meeting. If you want it let me know so I'll have an idea of how many bottles to make up.

yeah, i'll take a swig (don't need a whole bottle). i'm doing nanochlorpsis (the common stuff) at the moment, i can bring some of that if you want. i have rotifer cysts, but i haven't gotten around to starting them yet. though i might have them by the meeting(s).

i think one bottle would be enough to split among everyone, and just have everyone who wants some to bring an empty bottle to take it home in.

Sure we could do that but its no problem to bring the soda bottles (16 oz) Hubby drinks the stuff like water......soda I mean. lol I have lots and nothing to feed it too except the BBS at the moment.

I'll brig it both ways, in case anyone forgets their bottle and wants some.

I'd love to try a different strain. I might even try mixing some with mine to see how a 3 strain does

MAAAHAHA.....ehem

I love playing mad scientist.

I'll bring a bottle

What do you keep your salinity at?

i shoot for 1.015-1.017, though i'll have to bump it up a bit once i start the rotifers.

HiddenClown, Do you have any corals in your tank? You can use it to feed them, or if you want to raise cultures like rots or pods(copes) or brine shrimp, you culture them in this greenwater, they eat the algae and in turn the algae eat the amonia and waste of the culture, I think that is the reason it is sometimes called sweetwater.

BTW, I misstyped in my heading its not called phylo but phyto. lol

Sure Mike, if Matt brings some thats all I'll need to start some and do some experiments on. If for some reason he can't I'll take you up on your offer. Thanks
