the damn canopy is tilted forward so half of the PC light ends up on the wall....any suggestions?

thanks guys!

bobby,
those gorgs don't look too hot. the one on the top -- cut that left over "stem" back. see if that helps. the one on the bottom, wait and see. if it keeps deteriorating, cut of the bad bits and try to frag again.
what kind of "cement" did you use? are they under lots of light? lots of flow?

keep trying!

second problem: maybe you can cut a notch in your canopy to accommodate those tubes.

my 2 cents.

i used "krazy glue gel". They're all about half-way down in my tank so they should be getting plenty of light.....the one on the top rarely sticks out it's polyps....

the second one has them out a hell of a lot. There's also plenty of flow directed at both of them. Is it normal for them to brown?

and, it's not the tube that's the problem with the canopy, its the standing up tube with a screw on top....is there any way to get different plumbing for that section? I dont want to cut any notches in my canopy~

I think this will work. That part of the tube is there with the cap to make it easy to start a siphon as you know, in other words, prime the pump. I think you will get the same results by replacing the "T" at the top with a 90 degree fitting. That gets rid of the problem, but you have eliminated the easy priming point. To add another priming point, just insert a "T" somewhere on the down tube along with a 90 degree fitting to go up and extend an alternate tube up along with a cap that can be behind the canopy. If you really want to hide the thing, use a barbed fitting out of the "T" and use flexible hose here that you can raise up higher than the tank when you need to and use a barbed fitting and appropriate cap at the top to seal the priming point so that the filter must suck out of the tank. When not used for priming, you just tuck it behind the tank. A cleaner way would be to put the T and the 90 in and then put a true union ball valve at the point in the new up tube that is just below the canopy. The union part of the valve would be connected to a small length of PVC as your priming tube that you only connected to the valve when you needed to prime the filter/pump. When you need to prime, you just attach the tube to the valve via the union, fill up the tube, turn the valve off and turn on the filter. As long as the valve id high enough, this will work without having to cap the higher tube.

I hope this made sense. I kind of thought and typed at the same time. Let me know if you need any further clarification.

After looking at this again, you could just drill a hole through th back to put the "T" part through so that it was low enough not to interfere with the canopy.

couldn't you just notch the back so the intake sits lower...

Chris, That is actually what I was thinking when I said cut a hole, thanks for the clarification. I think he has all the options he needs now. At least, I can't think of any others.:)

bobby, the gorgs "shed" once or twice a week for me. this is probably what the brown is. this is normal. once it peels off, they are back to normal!
hope they make it!
