Hey everyone,
My sinularia is showing a strange balloon-type growth. It has been there for several days. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Should I leave it alone, lance it to let fluid out, other suggestions?

Very strange. Have you tried posting to Eric Borneman's forum? I'm sure he could identify exactly what's causing that.

Strange indeed.

Maybe there is a foreign body in there? A parasite? Disease?

Sorry I can't be of more help on this one.......I have had quite a few leathers and I have never seen anything like that.......

You could also try asking the WetWebMedia crew (Bob Fenner and friends). Send the picture along as well. I seem to remember reading about someone having a similar problem with one of their soft corals on that site.

I thought I'd let everyone know that the growth has subsided. I did try sending a pic to WetWeb, but got no reply. I guess I'll never know what this was, or why it went away...

hi Wynne,
Try sending it to WetWeb again. I know they get loaded down with stuff each day. They always ask for photos in jpeg format (I think) and small size if possible. They have always gotten right back to me.
