That Clathrata frag was a freebee from Chris in an order a couple months ago. I glued it to a piece of rock and threw it on the bottom. It has encrusted the rock and gets great polyp extension. I have a larger full Clathrata at the top of the tank that is forest green and getting pinkish tips. The other one is an acanthastrea, if I remember right. I just remember it was expensive and thinking "man, I can't believe I paid that for something that sized." Again, threw it on the bottom and forgot about it.

The Blue Teardrop is one of my favorites and never seems to change.

Hey Mike,
thanks for posting pics, your tank is unreal!
i like the pic of the purple and teal nobilis side by side.

There are acually three Nobilis there. Two are getting rather large, the purple tipped one on the left and the teal one on the right. What is very hard to see is that the teal one as very bright sky blue tips. In the back is a sky blue smaller nobilis that I just put in yesterday. I am hoping it brightens up in the tank like the others have. I have had a minor growth explosion over the last couple weeks with the two nobilis. When I got them they really had no splits in the branches and, as you can see, they are really starting to go everywhere.

Mike, great tank!!! So in the end, are you happy with the expirience with InterAmerican?

Overall, yes. I have no problems with the product, just with the Bozo running the place. That being said, Mitch would serve himself and his business well just to tell people the truth and not his "hopes".

I would still order from him.

Mike,
I believe i've read that you're using the ZEOvit system. by your pictures, it's obvious that you're getting results. i was wondering if you could share your experience and thoughts: is it the "miracle" that it's marketed to be? do you see it as being a practical system for the average reefer?

thanks,
j

Well, I really don't know if it was switching to Zeovit or just the maturation of the regugium/sandbed, but phosphates and nitrates are undetectable. The one thing that leads me to believe that the Zeovit system played a major part in this is that the growth of the Macro has really slowed since about day 7 of using the Zeovit products. My Feather Caulerpa was growing a leaf a day before that. A couple of the corals have started "coloring up", especially the Nobilis and the Robusta. I have gotten a growth spurt in the last week or so on my Nobilis, Robusta, Hyacinthus and subulata. I have not experienced anything negative as of yet (knock on wood).

One other thing - I had some hair algae and bryopsis that had been slowly going away since adding the refugium, but what was left (mostly in the upper middle of my tank) went away within two days.

I am only two weeks into using Zeovit so I really don't know yet. I have not added Zeospur 2 yet which is supposed to help lighten the corals up a bit by having them expel some of the outer layers of zooan....

We'll see how it goes.

Oh yea, I am gettign a few more pieces from RM today, mostly smaller stuff, but one 7" BLUE/PURPLE Samoensis.

Forgot to address one of your questions...

It's actually very easy to use and the "average reefer" should have no problem. I have a little more wiggle room on the correct dosage just because of the total volume of my system.
