Here is a whole tank shot for those that are asking what I have been working on in between other house projects.

http://www.amazingreef.com/180reef/newtank.JPG

I have some fargs in there right now, nothing special and most of the stuff I saved from my old tank didn't fair the move too well. I will be calling those that I passed frags to the next time I am in LA .

Pierce,

So is this finally set up in the house ? How do you keep Bonnies head out of the stand ?

Looks like a good state -- Hard to believe those are the massive pieces of Liverock.

Looks good Pierce!

Micropthalma, that green bushy thing, and the monties are all growing well in my tank.....

Dave, The doors for the canopy were drying when I took the picture, the are now on. I will be building the doors for the stand this coming weekend. Bonnie and Hagan has no interest in the stand now, they already ate the big plastic can of Reef Formula 2.

Chuck, I will give you a call the next time I am in LA.

Pierce, did the dogs color up after eating the Reef Formula :D

Tank looks like its coming along nicely. Your welcome to any of your corals in my tank, and then some.

Pierce,

If the Xrays are no good, just send Cindy out to drive the frags safely across country.

Pierce, what do you need? When are you back in LA. You are always welcome to raid my tank.

Chuck,

Thanks for the offer! I am looking for bali slimmers, purple rim cap, that un-id green fuzzy hairy acro, and some purple tipped nana that was given to me by Anemone as Larry Jackson PM.

Not sure when I will be in LA again, Cindy does make it out once a month for work and is willing to pick up stuff from westside and valley area. I will let you know a few days before the next time she leaves for LA.

I have the slimer, lyndells green cap, nana with the purple tips all in plentiful amounts. I dunno what that green fuzzy thing is unless it's the thing that was ID'd as a chesterfieldensis by the ID wonder boy.

Pierce,

I have your purple rim cap that you had in your tank before you left. Your more than welcome to take some back next time Cindy is in town.

Pierce,

I have the Bali Slimer, and the Green Hairy Acro - that I always liked.

You don't want any caps from me, but whatever else, I can send you.

Big thanks to everyone's generosity, maybe I'll do some planning and make a business trip out west to pick this up and bring some of my new stuff out.

Is everyone going to Boston? Dave, are you still getting that order together for me?

o2manyfish

Pierce,

I have been, and am still in trial. So nothing has moved forward with the other stuff.

Okay here are some more pictures of the whole tank and the "fish room"

http://www.amazingreef.com/180reef/180reef%20083104%2037b.JPG
One more door to build and another coat of polyurethane then I am done.

http://www.amazingreef.com/180reef/180reef%20083104%2035b.JPG
One wall of the room. I will have another 150 to buy and put up adjacent to this wall, that tank will be an in-wall, facing the TV\family room. The two 90 gallon tanks are for holding and softy propping.

Dave, No sweat on that order, I can wait until you are ready. How about the diving trip? I need to plan out my vacation days for the remainder of the year. BTW, are you loosing the case is that why it is taking so long?

Pierce,

Tank looks great! Do you want me to ship out some frags? I still have your tort. Hasn't grown much but at least it's still alive!:D That blue/green acro is alive and well too!

Roland

Roland,

That be great, when can you do that? Do you have other corals I can buy from you? I don't have much to trade right now and you have everything I had in LA anyway.

Pierce

Pierce,

No need to pay for frags but if you pay for shipping, I'll stuff what I can in the box.

Roland

Roland,

Let's get together on this one, and ship him stuff at the same time.

I have the insulated shipping boxes, and I can pick up some "cool" packs.

Sounds good to me, Dave!

I'm no expert shipper and it would help tremendously if I just dropped the frags off with you or you can always come pick them up!:p
I did ship out 24 frags to Chris(skilos) back East and 20 of them made it. Funny thing was the most hardy ones died!

Roland

Dave and Roland,

let me know how you guys want to ship it to me. I can paypal you guys the $$ or have Cindy ship it from her work the next time she is in LA. I think She will be there the week of Sep 20th.

Thanks.

Pierce,

I'll try to hook up with Dave before the 20th, if not, I'll just ship them out myself. If you have an account with FedEx, just let me know and I'll just have FedEx charge your account and your good to go.

Pierce,

Your tank looks great. Any close up shot? Did you built the canopy and stand yourself? Well nice work.

Jimmy

Jimmy,

Thanks.. I do have some close ups, just got a new camera and took whole buch pictures. Just need to go thru them and upload to my server. Give me a day or two.

I did built the canopy and stand, it looks similar to my old 90 gallon stand, pretty much all oak.

How is your tank coming back around?

jimmy007
09/24/2004, 01:18 PM
Pierce,

My tank is up and running for a couple of month now but I'm planning on redo my rock work before adding more coral. I just have a few coral in the tank right now.

Pierce-

Tank looks great!

Are you running a bare bottom tank? Or is their a remote sand bed somewhere?

Keep the pics coming!

Scott

cali_reef
10/05/2004, 10:03 PM
Scott,

I am running a "shallow" sand bed in the main tank, 1-2 inches of Southdown and CaribSea Aragonite mix, like the old 150 but a lot less sand. I do have a 5 inch sand bed in my refugium, I guess it is like a remote sand bed.

The new macro lens for my camera should get here sometime next week, I'll post some close ups then.

gregr

tripod is a great tool for coral close-ups and such where you can't use the flash. holler if i can answer any photo questions.

Hey Pierce,
Since you linked me to this thread, I thought I would revive it. If you have room in your tank still, you are welcome to anything I have, next time you are in L.A.

Thanks everyone, I will see if I can upload a few more recent pictures tomorrow.

Bill, This clown tang came from Roland and I had him in my old tank(150gal in LA) for almost 8 months before I took him flying :). He is a terror!! he swims up to my arm every time I have my hands in the tank, the first few times I freaked out and got my arm out really quick.
We like to visit you guys some time in the New Year, with my cooler and frag pliers:lol:. I had hope to be there for the x-mas party but I have a conflict in my schedule. Send us some recent photos of Sammy please!.
