macro anyone?

I'm going to dremel the top of my AC 500 and add a plexiglass baffle to make a refugium for my 20H. Anyone got spare chaetomorpha?
Oldschooler - do you guys carry it? If so, how much?

If no one here has it, check out the seller's forum. You can usually get a decent bagful for around $15 shipped. I got some from FricknFrag (or something like that) out of Cleveland along with a few other macros. (I don't think he has anything but Chaeto right now, though). The other macros (Halimeda and what he called red scrubbie) were taken out by the monster cycle in my 125 and initial lack of light, but the Chaeto is still kickin. I don't have enough to get rid of any right now, but what he has is pretty resilient.

I am growing it in a 20 gallon fuge remotely plumbed to my sump and lighting it with one of those LOA fixtures you can get at home despot for about 30 bucks. They basically have 6k pc bulb in them. Run it 24/7. COralline is all over the glass now. I have a wad of chaeto about the size of basketball in it with some LR and sand. POD HEAVEN!! Near Nashville is Charlotte. But I work everyday in west Nashville (when I'm not in the field).

The reason I asked is there are a couple of threads about people having much better growth rates with chaeto using floodlight type bulbs instead of pc's(they ngive the specific bulb type in the threads). One is by Randy Holmes Farley in the reef chemistry forum and another is by Melev in the general discussion forum. Both of them switched to the floodlightb type bulb and their chaeto growth just took off. I just tried to find the links but couldn't and of course the search feature isn't working now. Also I would like some chaeto if you have any to spare.

Sure I'm really going to try to make it to the next meeting, so I can bring it there.

I have some chaeto for you chris.....Its growing in my display with a shop light fixture from home depot w/ a 65k fluoro. Grows like mad. It does have small bristle worms in it. Not sure if that is a problem

I attacked my ac500 with the dremel last night. I also zip tied one of those 13w 6500k worklights (wal-mart) to a piece of vinyl gutter, so I am all set.

I'll take some if anybody wants to get rid of some! Trying to get rid of that nasty caulerpa that tried to nuke my tank. I have noticed an increase in cyano since I haven't been using any macroalgae.
