ok we are considering changing out tanks from the seaclear to some other normal tank. What would we need to get to do that? We would only go up to maybe 40 or 55g max as we are in a apt and Apt's are never big. I assume we could still use the skimmer we ordered amd the maxi jet 1200's. Our lights we JUST got are 2x 65w pc daylight and actinic w/ moonlights came as one unit.
here is the back of our sea clear, we dont have anything else because the seaclear came with it all.
Also ordered 25lb LR and have in there 10lr and 20 ls.

the two empty spots after the prefilter are for a skimmer and heater, last heater tried to kill us and we found we dont really need it and skimmer we just ordered. no idea how to use it when it gets here though lol.

All that you really need is a filter of some sort. If you are looking for a reef, you want about 10x the water volume per hour. With your maxijets and skimmer, you should be able to put a canister filter on there and be pretty good on your filtration.

unless you're thinking of changing tanks to go bigger, i would just keep the tank you have. personally, i like the "all in one" tanks because it gives you a place to hide your equipment, and gives you an overflow for surface skimming. also, your pc lighting might not be intense enough on a taller tank like a 40 or 55.

once you get in that extra LR and skimmer, you'll be set.
